MARION, OH (WCMH) – A Marion boy has been reunited with his prized mini Mustang after police noticed a post about it on Facebook.
Scott McEldowney made a Facebook post on November 25 showing pictures of his son riding around on a miniature Boss 302 Mustang. McEldowney said that someone stole the car from outside his home.
Yesterday, a Marion police officer was able to find the Mustang and return it to its rightful owners.
In a Facebook post, Marion police said:
This information was relayed to Ofc. Casey Thomas who did some legwork and ultimately recovered the Mustang Boss and returned it to this highly ecstatic young man. Mom and Dad say that he thoroughly enjoys riding around in his hot-rod and they were deeply appreciative that we were able to get the Boss returned to the rightful owner. This certainly shows the power of social media when used for good. Thanks to Amy Sparling for spreading the word and to Ofc. Casey Thomas for his work on this. Ofc. Thomas enjoyed the fruits of his labor with the opportunity to see this young man’s face when his most prized possession was returned! #MarionProuD
