Man critically injured after striking car, building in south Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person was rushed to the hospital after striking a car and building Thursday evening.

Columbus police and medics responded to the Dollar General store at 3636 Lockbourne Road just after 8pm Thursday on a report of a car into a building.

Police told NBC4 that a male driver in a Durango struck a family in a Saturn, wedging the vehicle between the car and the building. The car caught fire and one driver was trapped.

Bystanders attempted to break the man out, but firefighters had to break him from his vehicle. He was rushed to the Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.
