Lewis Center couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide

LEWIS CENTER, OH (WCMH) – A Delaware County couple was found dead Sunday in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.

According to  the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call around 4:10pm Sunday from family members who hadn’t heard from their loved ones in a while.

Deputies responded to the couple’s Aurora Avenue address to begin searching the area.

About an hour later, deputies say they discovered the body of 33-year-old Rachel E. Reutzel in the family’s vehicle at the Lewis Center access road to Alum Creek beach. The body of 41-year-old Todd Reutzel was found about 75 yards away.

Deputies said both were pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.

Deputies believe Todd Reutzel shot himself after killing Rachel. The investigation is ongoing.
