South Linden homeowner shoots suspected robber

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The south Linden homeowner said he defended himself when a suspected robber broke into his home.

It happened shortly after 6pm on the 1000 block of East 23rd Avenue.

Police received a call that a person had been shot near East 23rd Avenue and Hamilton Avenue. The officers responded and met someone that said they were the victim of a robbery attempt and defended himself with a gun.

The suspect of the robbery was hit several times. They were transported to Grant Medical Center in life threatening condition. Police say the victim of the robbery is a valid Carrying Concealed Weapon holder and has cooperated with the investigation.

The incident is still under investigation.
