POLK COUNTY, FL (WCMH) – A police K9 in Florida helped chase down two drug suspects after they ran from a traffic stop.
“If K-9 Turbo could talk, this is what he would say, ‘If you are driving around with Meth in your truck, you should buckle up,’” the Polk County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said James Roberts and Teresa Hiddle were pulled over for seatbelt and tag violations. During the stop, deputies said they tries to flee down a dead-end road before turning around and trying to ram a cruiser.
They allegedly ran into the woods after their pickup truck stalled.
A K9 and his handler tracked the pair into the woods.
Deputies said they were bitten after they refused to surrender.
They were taken to the Polk County Jail. Roberts is charged with resisting arrest, possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, fleeing to elude and aggravated assault on a LEO. Hiddle is charged with resisting arrest, and possession of meth and paraphernalia.
