Firefighters extinguish flames at west Columbus house fire

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Firefighters battled flames at a vacant home on N Princeton Avenue in west Columbus early Thursday morning.

The fire started around 12:40 am.

A couple surrounding homes sustained minor fire and smoke damage, but no one was reported injured from the fire.

Neighbors said they had seen people going in and out of the residence before the incident.

The chief said a “warming fire” could be a possible cause, but they will not know for sure until the investigators are there.

Officials say one firefighter was transported from the scene to a local hospital, but it was unrelated to the fire.
