Hawaii only ones to escape freezing temps today

Columbus (WCMH) – It was a cold morning across Ohio, with temps falling in spots below zero. Yes, it was not our coldest morning of the month, but we shared something with most everyone in the country… Freezing temps!

I looked at data state by state, including some of the state mesonet data to find freezing or sub-freezing temps, it was 49/50!!!

That’s correct, every state in the lower 48 experienced at least freezing (32°) this morning. The only exception was Hawaii, where the lowest temp was 36° this morning.

It was 33° at the station on the mountain last night.


The two spots that were hard to find temps at freezing were in northwest Florida, and northwest South Carolina:
