Shot fired at mall in Heath; police say there is no active shooter situation

HEATH, OH (WCMH) — The Heath Police Department says a single shot was fired in the restroom of Indian Mound Mall just after 2 o’clock Thursday.

Police officers and Licking County Sheriff’s deputies responded and checked the surrounding area.

No injuries were reported.

Anjol Jacobs, who works at the mall, says she didn’t know what happened until someone’s mom texted a coworker about it.

“My reaction was shocked, that we had to hear about it from outside of the mall,” she said. “We just assumed if something like that was going on we would hear about it right away. We have a great security team but we didn’t really know about it until after somebody that cared about somebody that was there told us about it.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
