Police identify man killed in early morning shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police have identified the man killed in a shooting early Saturday morning in east Columbus.

It happened around 2am on the 6500 block of Red Coach Lane near Reynoldsburg. According to Columbus Police, officers responded to a report of a shooting inside a residence. When they arrived, officers found 51-year-old Darrin Rodia suffering from a gunshot wound. Rodia was unresponsive. Medics arrived at the scene and pronounced Rodia dead at 2:20am.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation and that no charges are pending at this time.

This is the 10th homicide in Columbus this year.
