18-year-old found dead after car crashes into river in Heath

HEATH, OH (WCMH) — An 18-year-old teenager from Heath was found dead in a car in the South Fork Licking River on Saturday.

Heath Police believe Jayson Nelson lost control on a curve in the area of Livingston Court. They are unable to determine how long the car was in the water but they do say it was at least several hours, if not overnight.

Police say they believe speed was a factor in the crash. They say there is no indication of alcohol or drug involvement.

Nelson was a 2016 graduate of Heath High School.
