COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say a woman died after being hit by a vehicle in south Columbus Sunday.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 8:54pm, a 25-year-old man was driving westbound on Refugee Road, just west of Eastland 5, when he struck a 51-year-old woman, who was walking eastbound.
Police have identified the woman as Gayla Coleman.
Coleman died as a result of her injuries. The male driver was uninjured in the crash.
Police continue to investigate, but say use of intoxicating substances is not suspected. No charges have been filed at this time.
