One person in critical condition after west Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus Police are investigating after a shooting Tuesday night in west Columbus.

The shooting happened just after 11:00 pm on the first block of N Guilford Avenue.

Police say Carlton R. Huffman and one unidentified suspect forced their way into the home. Once inside, they shot the victim, Michael Certain, twice.

Police say a neighbor then came to the assistance of Mr. Certain and engaged the suspects in a gun battle.

Mr. Certain was transported to Mount Carmel West in critical condition.

The incident is under investigation.
