One dead, two injured after shooting near Weinland Park

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say one person has died after a shooting near Weinland Park.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 10:19pm, Sunday, officers were called to the rear of a residence in the 1300 block of N. 4th street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene they found Thomas Louis Drewry unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Drewry was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Police said two other victims, Gerrell Russell, 32, and Dareckus Taylor, 36, were also injured in the shooting.

Russell was transported from the scene by an ambulance in stable condition. Taylor made his own way to the hospital where he underwent surgery but is expected to survive, according to police.
