Police investigate after man’s body pulled from river

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Homicide detectives with the Columbus Division of Police are investigating after a man’s body was pulled from the Scioto River Friday evening.

Officers were dispatched to Twin Rivers Drive and Water Department Loop near Dublin Road around 7:09pm Friday. According to police, a man who was fishing in the area called police to report what he believed to be a body floating in the water.

The Columbus Division of Police Dive Team pulled the body from the water near Confluence Park. The man’s identity is unknown at this time, but officers believe the man’s tattoos can help identify him. Police say that the man is a white male, between 25 and 35 years old. Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730.
