Columbus teen drowns in Marion’s Quarry Park

MARION, OH (WCMH) — The Marion City Police Department has identified a teen that drowned after diving off a cliff at Quarry Park Saturday.

Police and Fire were called to the park on the report of a drowning after 3pm.

Marion Police say a group of juveniles were jumping off cliffs when one of them began to experience difficulty and yelled for help. A friend immediately called 911.

After a three hour search, crews recovered the body of 15-year-old Shavon Reid.

The boy’s body was taken to the Franklin County Coroner’s office.
