Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy shoots suspect during chase

FRANKLINTON, OH (WCMH) — Columbus Police says shots were fired at officers in the Franklinton area Monday evening.

It happened on the 200 block of Avondale Avenue.

A Lieutenant with the Columbus Police Department said a US Marshals task force was conducting a violent crime investigation when the suspect fled on foot.

Law enforcement officials followed the suspect and a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy fired their weapon, hitting the suspect.

Their condition is unknown at this time.

Dispatchers with Columbus Police say no officers were injured.
