Woman killed, two children injured in Marion County crash

MARION COUNTY, OH (WCMH)– The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms that someone has died after a crash in Marion early Wednesday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 1:41am, Wednesday, troopers were called to Pole Lane Road, north of Likens Road in Marion Township on the report of a single-vehicle crash.

Troopers say a 2002 Hyundai XG350 being driven by Kathryn M. Margraff, 31, of Marion, was southbound on Pole Lane Road when it traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overcorrected traveled off the left side of the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its top.

Margraff was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 8-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were also in the vehicle at the time, and both suffered non-life threatening injuries. The boy was taken by helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the girl was transported to Marion General Hospital.

According to troopers, the boy and girl were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, but Margraff was not.

Pole Lane Road was closed while troopers investigated, but it has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
