One dead, one injured in Linden Wednesday

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are investigating after one person was found dead near Linden early Wednesday morning.

Columbus police and medics responded to the area of Myrtle Avenue and Greenwich Street on a report of a shooting at about 12:11am Wednesday.

One person was found at the scene dead near a dumpster, according to police. That person has not been identified.

A second person with an injury was found near East Hudson Street and Greenwich Street and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Dispatchers with Columbus Police tell NBC4 they cannot confirm the person found dead was killed in a shooting. Police initially said the incident was a shooting, but later said they can’t confirm a shooting occurred.
