COLUMBUS (WCMH) –Pied in the face! That’s what happened at Avondale Elementary School on Monday.
It was all part of a fun reward for students who had perfect attendance.
Students who came to school every day during attendance incentive week in February wrote their name on a piece of paper that was placed in an envelope. Names were drawn to pick which student could take a pie to a teacher’s. Another teacher was duct taped to a wall.
Students guessed how many pieces of tape would hold up the teacher to the wall. Teachers say it took more than a whole roll, but it did end up holding him up for a short period of time.
One teacher, Sherry Koch, took a few a whipped cream pies to the face.
“I only did it because they wanted to throw a pie in a teacher’s face. And so, I volunteered. Activities that encourage them with their attendance and that’s all I did it for was fun because the kids would have fun doing it and we have to have fun I loved it it’s one of my favorite memories now,” said Koch
The school says more than 100 students names were in the envelope for the drawing. Seven students were picked to tape the teacher to the wall and three students threw a pie in the teachers face.
