COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus Police said that someone broke into a man's storage shed on Cleveland Avenue Friday.

The man got a call that someone was breaking into his garage through a window. He showed up and caught one suspect, NBC 4 reported.

The suspect reportedly didn't even try to run. Instead, he opted to sit and wait for police to arrive.

When police arrived, they found the suspect with a duffle bag full of copper piping. The man was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering.

Police are checking in with some of the area scrap-metal yards to see if a dark-colored pickup truck with the stolen machines shows up.

The so-called "scrapping" is a constant citywide problem, police said.
